India, being the hub of variation in colour and flavours, has an expertise in cooking crabs in various ways. The different states have a different taste in the cooking of crabs. However, the butter garlic crab is one of the trendy dishes.
It was originated before ages in the states closer to the seas, rivers or dams where crabs are available in bulks.

Crabs are first put into hot boiling water so that they stop crawling and ultimately die. They are seasoned with some salt and set aside. Butter is melted in a Chinese Kadai, and green chillies and cut garlic are added to it. After stir-frying these, the crabs are added and are fried well.
This dish is available in almost all Indian restaurants and acts as a main dish.
